Tooth-colored Fillings

A tooth-colored filling is used to restore your teeth. The portion of the tooth that’s affected is removed and filled with the composite filling, which can be closely matched to the color of your existing teeth. This helps to improve the aesthetic qualities of your tooth restoration and ensure a more beautiful smile. There are a number of situations when tooth-colored fillings are used:

  • Chipped teeth
  • To fill gaps between two teeth
  • Worn teeth
  • Decayed teeth
  • Cracked or broken teeth

The procedure for getting tooth-colored fillings can usually be done in one appointment. After numbing your tooth, your dentist will remove the decay and clean the area, The filling will then be placed in the tooth, shaped to match it and polished. After they’re first placed, patients may experience sensitivity to hot and cold, but these sensations will subside after your tooth gets accustomed to the filling.
